Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2BPosition Projection

05/31/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Brandon is a 2B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 2B, Brandon shows proper footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Brandon improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. Brandon can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. Overall, Brandon is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/12/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Justin (DFW), TX Brandon is a young, 2-way player with long legs. At 2nd base, Brandon has active feet, he fields in a low/square position, and he takes good angles to the ball. He makes plays, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Brandon has good balance over the rubber, he separates on time, and lands in a square position toward the plate. He competes in the zone and his off speed show promise. Offensively, Brandon has a tall/open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, has fast bat speed, and he makes hard/level contact. Brandon can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

Defense

2. Release

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
