07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Brandyn is a 2027 C/RHP prospect that recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. His intangibles and make-up jump out at you early, and he really looks the part. Behind the dish, he does well to get in a relaxed, athletic setup and presents firm hands out in front as a good target for his pitchers. He tracks the ball well and shows off a strong wrist when receiving. He shows off a clean exchange and gains ground when making throws. His arm action is short and quick and he puts throws on the bag, recording a low pop time of 2.2 seconds. He also greatly improved his raw velo, jumping up to 78 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance with high hands and a rhythmic load. He has very controlled movements in the box and works with a firm frontside with his lower half. He shows off impressive bat speed and a smooth, on-plane swing path to the baseball. He recorded a max exit velo of 75 MPH. He reached base in 3 of 6 plate appearances in game action with a triple, single and walk. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and features a 3-pitch mix. He does well to gather his balance over the rubber and shows off a clean arm action. He stays in-line with his stride to the plate and keeps his eyes level on his target. He ran his FB up to 71 MPH and showed some arm side run with the pitch. His CB shows off gradual break and he throws his CH with a loose, natural stroke. He recorded 2 strikeouts in 2 innings of game action and didn't allow a hit. Overall, Brandyn is an exciting prospect that any coach would be lucky to have on their team!
