01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Branson is a 2026 C/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with athletic actions, and presents a good target. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Made accurate throws to 2nd base, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 85mph and a best pop time of 2.02 seconds. On the mound, he has a confident mound presence with a good idea for pitching. He separates his hands on-time, with a loose/quick arm stroke, and works with good direction down the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 85mph with arm side run, and an 11/5 shaped slider with sharp breaking action. In 2 innings of work he punched out 2 batters and only allowed 1 hit. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and open stance with high hands. Showed natural juice in swing and has explosive bat speed through the hitting zone. Gets hips through as he hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. At the event, Branson showed good patience as he reached base 5 times with a double, 2 base on balls, and was hit by pitch twice. Overall, Branson is a good prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
