12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Braxton is a 2024 left-handed hitting OF who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. In the OF, he starts from an athletic position, has quick feet, and works behind the ball well. He fields from an athletic position and has a clean transfer. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good carry and a 79 mph raw velocity. At the plate, he starts from a square stance, has a high hand slot, and a simple load. Braxton has a good lower ½ and was able to show some pull side pop during batting practice. In the games, he had a pair of hits and showed a good eye picking up 2 walks. Braxton has a lot of potential as he continues to grow and we expect to see great things in the future from him.

06/15/2023 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Braxton continues to shine with his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.31 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/16/2023 - National Showcase - Portland, OR Braxton is a LH hitting OF in the 2024 class. In the field, he had solid quiet feet and is agile in his movements and angles. Gains an athletic fielding position and has pocket awareness. Uses long over-the-top arm action and is consistent with his accuracy back to the dirt. Working to stay more in his legs on his throws will generate more ball flight. At the plate, he begins in a tall stance and uses a short stride. Gets into his backside well and uses a direct barrel path for line drive production. Working on his timing will help as he sees next level pitching. Overall, Braxton is a solid player with upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
