01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Braxton is an impressive 2 way player in the 2025 class. Each time we see Braxton he improves both on the mound and in the field. This prospect features a 2 pitch arsenal and delivers each pitch from a nice and clean arm slot. The FB comes in at 75 mph with good carry and is complimented by a slider with good shape. Defensively, Braxton works behind the ball and makes accurate throws from the outfield. Foot speed is steadily increasing and he ran his best 60 yard dash to date at 7.41 seconds. At the plate, he sprays the ball to all fields and has a consistent swing. Braxton projects as a a gap to gap type of hitter and will really see his power numbers improve as he continues to utilize his lower half. Overall Braxton is in a solid spot and will continue to climb the prospect board with time and development.

07/22/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (MS) Braxton is a physical OF/RHP prospect in the graduating class of 2025. In the outfield, he does an excellent job getting reads off the bat and creates good angles to the baseball. Shows a high fly ball catch and does a good job working through the baseball to make throws into the infield. Showed off impressive arm strength for his age and was up to 77MPH from the outfield. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance with loose and comfortable hands. Does a good job activating his lower 1/2 with his load. Shows some quickness in his hand speed and hits into a firm front side. Shows an advanced approach with a gap-to-gap focus. On the mound, he works in the strike zone often and delivers all pitches from a 3/4 arm action. Shows consistent and clean mechanics with a quick arm. Fastball worked up to 73MPH. Braxton is a very good prospect with a bright future.

06/25/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Braxton is an athletic RHP/C who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 67-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.51 range and will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt as he tracks the ball well. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering ball well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and has some strength in his swing as he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Braxton has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
