10/24/2012 - Arizona Freshman/Sophmore Fall Classic In Braydan's latest Baseball Factory event he showcased his ability to perform in game settings. Defensively, he excelled behind the plate showing in-game pop times of 1.9 and 2.1 seconds. He has a nice low/athletic setup and an ability to deaden the ball in his blocking. His initial positioning is slightly too far away from the plate and hitter, and he has excess body movement in his receiving. With drill work and continued fundamental training Braydan projects to be a fantastic catcher. He uses his lower half with his throws allowing for good carry with true/4-seam rotation. Allowing his back-half to follow his throws and getting more bend in his front leg will increase the carry to eventually seeing some life. Offensively, he is a contact type hitter that is a great baserunner with plus instincts. He controlled his head and got good extension through contact. Being more on-time, leveling his shoulders and utilizing his lower half will increase his bat speed and the cleanliness of his bat path. He had a total of 4 SB's and 2 RBI's at the tournament and showed a boldness about his game, defensively throwing a kid out backside at second with bases loaded. We believe Braydan projects well as an athletic catcher with plus instincts and an ability to simply play the game.
