05/09/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Atlanta, GA Brayden continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-67 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Butler is an athletic, R/R SS who continues to shine. Defensively, he has active prep on the balls of his feet as he works fluidly right to left in his approach to the GB. Hands are soft are he presents out front, funnels smoothly and has a quick/clean transfer to throw. He has + lateral range and can make the tough plays to his right and left look easy. With the bat, this righty shows a tall/athletic stance with centered balance. Swing is short/quick/compact as he connects and creates consistent contact, hitting line-drives back up the middle of the field. He hustles out of the box and down the 1B line consistently, putting pressure on the defense. Brayden is a skilled prospect who (only a 2025 grad) has a very bright future ahead in the game.

Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. At 2B, Brayden starts in an athletic fielding position, he presents a low/early glove, and fields the ball in a proper fielding position. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and improve his first step to the ball. He has good footwork to the ball and makes the throw. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
