Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

11/17/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Brayden is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Brayden gets into a square position to field the ball and has a long throwing motion from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Brayden can improve defensively by using his legs more when throwing to help his arm strength. At the plate, Brayden sets up in a square, athletic stance and shows good balance in the box. He gets back into his load well and comes through the zone with his lower half, producing line drives. Brayden can improve as a hitter by getting back into his load earlier. On the mound Brayden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 55-56mph. Breaking ball ranges from 51-52mph with 11-5 movement. Changeup sits from 50-51mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Brayden can improve as a pitcher by being more fluid with his back arm action. Mental makeup is a plus as Brayden displayed a great attitude throughout the event. Overall, Brayden is a young prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
