Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

Exclusive College Recruiting Program A strong framed athlete who is a current two-way player, but has great projection as a pitcher. On the mound he works from a ¾ delivery with a clean arm action with good arm speed and the ability to control 3 pitches. His FB velocity has ticked up into the consistent 83-86 MPH range and has bumped 87 and will continue to rise as he matures to be an upper 80 MPH potential low 90 MPH arm. He stays online with his delivery and has late life to his pitches. His CB and CHG both are in the low 70 MPH range with his CB slightly ahead of his CHG, but still needs consistent shape, but throws it for strikes. His CHG has arm side fade and he keeps it down when he misses. Overall, there is a lot of upside to Brayden he brings current performance on the mound with upside to really be solid college level RHP with potential starter profile based on durability and arm action.

09/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sioux Falls, SD Brayden is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Brayden shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He shows smooth rhythm and hits against a strong front side. On the mound, Brayden operates with a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Curveball sits at 62mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 66mph with sinking action. Slider sits at 66mph with good movement. Overall, Brayden is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Brayden is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training & Tournament. In the field, Brayden shows smooth footwork with a quick first step. He gets into position on time and fields with a relaxed glove. He throws with a short arm and makes accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a simple load and works through a compact swing, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Brayden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Brayden operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-66mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Brayden is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Omaha, NE Brayden is a projectable (6'0"/170), R/R 2-way player as a 3B/RHP. With the bat, this RHH shows an open stance with active hands to load. He takes a hack and likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 pulling it with pop (exit velo = 82 mph). At 3B, he hustles to come and get the GB working into a square/athletic fielding position. He tracks the ball into his mitt, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works quickly through his delivery and stays on top, driving downhill. FB ranges from 76-78 mph working it to both sides of the dish. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. Changeup has slight run and will only continue to develop the more he throws it. Gum (2023 grad) has a solid all-around skill-set with upside on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
