11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Brayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.84 with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are strong and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 64 mph. Fastball showed a range of 61-64 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard to be the best player he can be, and plays with a lot of energy.
