11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Brayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.84 with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are strong and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 64 mph. Fastball showed a range of 61-64 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard to be the best player he can be, and plays with a lot of energy.

07/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Norfolk, VA Brayden is an athletic C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Behind the plate, Brayden sits in a square stance and tracks the ball in well. He throws from a low 3/4 angle and makes accurate, on-line throws to 2B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and drives through well with his lower half, leading to square contact. On the mound, Brayden comes to a balance point over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He extends through on his release and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Brayden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out a 60mph. Breaking ball sits from 50-51mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 54-55mph. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Blocking range
2. Soft hands
3. Quicker exchange
Hitting
1. Balance
2. Hands inside the ball
3. Bat path
Pitching

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
