Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Brayden is a young RHP/2B. On the bump, Brayden shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CH. He gets a relaxed knee lift with a clean arm action and keeps his shoulders in line with the plate. He gets the proper stride length and has a controlled landing as he rotates to finish. Working on long toss to strengthen his arm will improve Brayden's game. At 2B he works hard to get into a good fielding position as he presents his hands out front. He makes clean exchanges and makes accurate throws around the infield. At the plate, Brayden sets up in a crouch. As he loads and strides he rotates against a firm front showing good barrel control and the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Overall Brayden has several years to develop and we look forward to seeing his progress.

04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Brayden is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 2nd base. On the mound, Brayden has a clean arm action, good balance, and he separates on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, has good direction toward home, and he uses his lower body. At 2nd base, Brayden fields aggressively, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and he flashes a good backhand; with some accuracy to his target. Offensively, Brayden has a crouched set-up, he tracks the ball well, and he gets the barrel through the zone. He makes contact and hits to the opposite field. Brayden can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Glove side lead
2. Finish
3. Eyes on target
Defense
1. Fielding position
2. Hands
3. Release
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Rhythm/timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
