02/02/2014 - National Tryout - Houston, TX Brayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities both on the mound and in the OF where he shows pro level abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now 6.94 runner. He utilizes his quick feet well in tracking down balls, displaying outstanding range and big play potential in the OF. At the plate, hitting / power grades now show at a pro level. Hands are quick, generating tremendous bat speed through a level swing path. He has raw power with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. He will hit and hit with power at the next level. On the mound, arm strength has improved as well, showing at a pro level as he topped out at 91 mph. Fastball showed a range of 86-91 mph with sinking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run / sink. Command / control are outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He has the makings of a solid draft type guy in 2015.

11/02/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series Texas Brayden is a physical, strong 2-way prospect with impressive tools across the board. As a position player he has a strong RH stroke with quick hands and pull power. His coordinated, connected swing leads to the ball exploding off his bat. In the outfield Brayden has range (6.97 in the 60), instincts and a very strong arm with good carry. Brayden is also an excellent RHP with big upside on the mound. His FB sat in the upper 80s in our game after a workout and playing several innings as a position player first. He pounds the bottom of the zone with fastball strikes that have a downhill plane and some tail. He also throws a tight curveball with good spin and depth. Overall, this is an extremely talented young player with a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
