11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City Carnes continues to show consistent abilities in his game. He ran his fastest 60 time to date, now running a 7.57. In the INF, he moves well pre-pitch and shows solid footwork. He has the ability to throw fun multiple arm angles and plays the slow roller well. Presenting his glove earlier and developing more controlled actions will help to polish up his defensive skills. On the mound, his FB now tops out at 74 mph from a previous 72 mph. He comes to a controlled balance point and shows good command of all of his pitches. He has a good idea and does well holding runners on base. More lower 1/2 drive and increased arm strength will help his fastball to be that much more effective. Offensively, he has a wide base and remains athletic throughout the swing. Carnes is coachable and is a team player that would make a good addition to any team.
