01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Brendan is a solid, athletic RHP/OF who showed as a prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet (6.93 60 time), covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (91 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 80-84 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is tremendous as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cole makes contributions all over the field, with his specialty coming on the mound as he has the ability to dismantle a lineup. His arm action and repeatable delivery with balance gets him to a consistent release point and dot pitches to the edges of the zone. He attacks hitters with a 3 pitch mix including a 76mph running FB, an 11-5 curve with good depth and a sinking changeup he shows feel for. He is a contact hitter at the dish with a middle approach to stay within himself and hit the ball where it is pitched. He is balanced throughout his swing and his lower half works well to generate speed through the zone. Behind the dish, he calls a good game with an idea of how to get hitters out. He has firm hands to work around the ball and he gets down to block and keep dirt balls in front. Cole is a versatile contributor with lots of potential on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
