12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Brendan is a hardworking RHP/OF prospect who has a projectable, lanky frame. On the mound, Brendan works with a quick tempo and effectively pitches downhill. He throws from an over the top arm slot with stiff arm action. Brendan does a nice job rotating with his core towards home plate as he delivers the baseball. He finishes in a good fielding position. Brendan's fastball has good downhill tilt. His curveball breaks 9-3 o'clock and his change-up is deceptively thrown with the same arm speed as his fastball. In the outfield, Brendan plays with fluid footwork and presents his glove. He has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Brendan does a nice job playing through the baseball with momentum producing strong consistent throws. Offensively, Brendan has an open stance with a centered balance. He takes a square stride and does a nice job transferring his weight. Brendan tracks the ball well and sprays it to all fields. Overall, Brendan has a solid set of skills and potential to get even better as he continues to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
