01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Brenden is a tall 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Brenden shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with explosive bat speed, leading to strong contact to all fields. On the mound, Brenden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Brenden shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-66mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Brenden is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/06/2020 - All-In Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Brenden is a lean, athletic RHP/3B who is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.00. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (85 mph exit velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine with well above average hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with arm side run / sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Brenden has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
