Official Scouting Report

  • RHPPosition Projection

Exclusive College Recruiting Program This projectable RHP can fill it up and compete. He pounds the zone with strikes and mixes his pitches well, working the ball in and out. Arm action is quick and he finishes well. FB jumps out of his hand and cracks the mitt, topping out at 88mph with good movement. Slider has sharp bite and is a solid go to 'K' pitch. Brendin is a talented prospect who will toe the rubber and compete at a very high level.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Brendin is a 2024 RHP/3B out of Mooresville, IN with a fantastic skill set. Defensively, has the make up to become a plus defender. He has advanced pocket awareness and his exchanges are clean. He uses his feet well to become aligned with his targets. His loose arm action (87 velo) produces online throws with accuracy. Once he becomes comfortable with his tall frame (6'3/160), he will be able to play lower to the ground in his fielding position. He has great mound presence and sound balanced mechanics. Creates a loose arm with great acceleration and uses a 2 pitch mix. His FB has sharp running actions and topped out at 82. His CB sat 72 with tight late spin. Has swing and miss ability with his running fastball and can keep hitters off balance with his breaking pitch. At the plate, he begins will a tall open stance and is smooth into the load phase. He stays square during his approach and has the ability to drive the ball gap to gap (81 exit velo). Shortening his barrel path will increase his contact rate. Overall, Brendin is a must follow prospect as he is only scratching the surface of a very promising career.

11/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Indianapolis, IN Brendin is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with some strength present and plenty of room to add more strength throughout. At 3B, he creates good fielding angles and ability to make routine plays. Fields from a square fielding position, with a good glove angle, and had a clean exchange. Made accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm, and an arm velocity up to 82mph across the diamond. On the mound, he gets a good rear hip coil, with a good balance point, and works with good direction. He showed a quick arm, with ability to "hide" the ball, and gets good extension out front. Showed a good mound presence and a good feel for pitching. Throws a FB that sits 76-79mph with good tailing action, a 9/3 slider that flashes good depth when on-time, and a developing sinker with some movement. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Takes a square glide step, with good hip turn, and head down at contact. Has a fast bat through hitting zone as he hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
