07/26/2008 - ACR-E - Maryland - 6 Brendon continues to improve his 60-time and also improved velo and infield grade. He hustled on and off the field and was not afraid to get dirty to make the play. At 2B, showed good presentation with good range because of his quick feet. Had soft hands which allowed for quick exchange and did nice job following flip for DP feed. Long toss will help improve arm strength. At times, he fielded ball little too deep which tied himself up. In the OF, was aggressive to the ball and got behind balls so he could properly play thru it. Had throwing action of an infielder in the outfield which showed with low arm-slot that created arm-side run. At the plate, has good load and holds his ground on both sides of plate. Looks more natural from right side of plate. Needs to improve overall strength which will improve bat speed and power.

06/19/2008 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - 2008 Brendon has excellent work habits which showed with improved 60-time. At the plate, has good bat speed with gap power. Shows good balance on both sides of plate with level swing thru hitting zone. Needs to get front foot down so he is on-time to hitting zone. Relaxing back elbow will allow barrel to stay thru zone longer and get good extension. In the INF, shows great instincts and intensity with excellent body control. Has quick release when turning DP. Needs to improve foot speed more to play middle infield at the next level.

03/02/2008 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Brendon is young athletic player. At 2B, shows a quick release and good range. Hands are very consistent. Can work on the double plays a little more, but fielding ability is above average. Swing is a little better from the right side at this point. From right, swing is quick and level. Uses lower half well. From left, makes consistent contact, but needs to get more out of the lower half. Bat speed should improve from both sides as he gets a little stronger, but the ability is there.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
