Official Scouting Report

11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Brendon continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he communicates well with other outfielders. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in working to get behind balls and work through ground balls. He has active footwork and covers ground. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program and raise his arm slot some on his throws. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He also showed better extension and finish. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently and stay short to help with his rhythm. Brendon is a great kid and has a phenomenal mental makeup-- he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

08/08/2016 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Brendon is a lean OF who will graduate in 2018. In the OF, he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well with his body. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. With 2 years to further develop, Brendon has abilities with time and room to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
