05/27/2012 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Brennan is a tall, lanky LHP that has a solid frame that is well suited for the mound and will graduate in 2013. Delivery is solid, displaying sound / repeatable mechanics that all his arm action to work loose and easy to the plate. He works through a strong balance point and stays in line with on time separation. Arm arc is short through a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 82-83 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays a 2/8 shape with gradual break and has potential to be a quality out pitch as he stays on top of pitch. Changeup shows arm side run but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will rise quickly as more arm strength is developed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
