09/15/2019 - College PREP - Moosic (Scranton), PA Brent raised arm strength to 80 MPH and ran his best 60 to date at 7.39 seconds during his last workout with The Factory. Defensively, Brent has active feet, he covers ground, and takes good angles to the baseball. He works through the backhand, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a quick arm action across the diamond. Offensively, Brent has quick hands, an athletic stance, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, gets good bat whip, and he uses his lower body well. Brent is a nice prospect to watch as he continues to get older.

06/30/2019 - College PREP - Binghamton, NY Brent worked out at SS during his last workout and showed excellent abilities. Defensively, Brent has fluid/agile footwork, and he fields athletically in rhythm. He makes plays cleanly, his exchange is quick, and he throws with momentum and consistency across the diamond. If Brent can finish off his throws more, and loosen his arm a bit, defense will get even better. At the plate, Brent has an athletic setup, good balance, and explosive bat speed. He makes hard contact gap to gap, and he uses his lower body. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Brent.

06/25/2018 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY Brent is a lean, athletic 3B who has a bright future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft/sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with zip on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. With 3 years to further develop, Brent has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
