10/25/2017 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Brent is a speedster who has shown improvements all over the field. He has improved his speed and athleticism, lowering his 60 time by over a tenth of a second to 6.77. He is a strong defender with active feet and a quick first step to show range to both sides. He shows smooth rhythm and makes quick DP feeds and turns. At the dish, he uses all fields by keeping his hands inside the ball and letting it travel. His swing is compact and short to the ball to make line drive contact to all fields with feel for the barrel. Brent is a talented player who can contribute all over the field.

06/25/2017 - College PREP - Seattle, WA Brent is an athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.99. At 2B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing. Brent has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
