2025 Baseball Factory Evaluation Workout - New Jersey
2026 SS/OF Bret Hole is an athletic, versatile player with tools that project well at the next level. He recently ran a personal best 6.73 60, showing the footspeed needed to stick up the middle and cover ground in the outfield.
Defensively, Bret worked out at both shortstop and outfield and showed strong potential at either spot. In the infield, he displays smooth prep-pitch actions, quick feet, and good range to both sides. He presents the glove well, makes clean exchanges, and delivers accurate throws with good carry. His arm strength continues to improve, now up to 87 mph.
In the outfield, Bret does a nice job working around the ball, high pointing with confidence, and staying behind his throws to his target. His reads and routes help his athleticism play up in the gaps.
At the plate, Bret hits left-handed with a short, compact swing and smooth actions. He works the middle of the field well and flashes gap-to-gap power, squaring up balls consistently with good bat speed and quick hands that should handle velocity at the next level. As he continues to add strength and improve lower half usage, there is more power upside to tap into.
Overall, Bret has the athleticism, instincts, and work ethic to be a quality contributor at the college level. He is a player to keep an eye on and should be a great fit for the right program!

Bret, a 2026 SS, showcased his impressive skill set at the Arizona Fall Classic. Known for his athleticism and smooth, relaxed posture on the field, his standout qualities include quick hands and excellent glove positioning. He keeps his feet active throughout the fielding process, which helps him deliver consistently accurate throws. As a left-handed hitter, Bret utilizes a comfortable hand set and a controlled stride, effectively engaging his core to generate solid swings. His natural ability at the plate, combined with his fielding talents, highlights his significant potential. Bret is well on his way to making strides as a rising junior and he has a bright future in baseball.
01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Bret is a 2026 SS who showcased his talents in front of scouts at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Bret has good upside and will continue to progress as he fills out. In the field, he has square fielding position and tracks the ball well. Bret threw from a high three-quarter arm slot and had good momentum across the infield. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has an open stance and smooth rhythm. He has an activated load and good balance in his lower half. His swing path is direct and short and he made consistent contact. In game, he hit several balls hard and picked up multiple hits. Bret is a solid player who plays the game the right way and we expect great things from him.
11/19/2023 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY
Bret continues show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (82 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.
07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS)
Bret continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.25 runner. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork in squaring balls up. Hands are clean presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 65-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

Bret is a young, 2-way player who hits from the left side. At 2nd base, Bret has efficient footwork, a presentable glove, and he moves well to find the right hops. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is quick, and he throws with accuracy and momentum across to his target. Abilities in the INF can improve if Bret can play lower and avoid stabbing to the ball. On the mound, Bret has good balance over the rubber and he separates his hands on time. He has a quick/clean arm circle, a controlled landing toward home, and he finishes in a square position. A more still head, front arm extension, and better finish can help improve mound effectiveness. At the plate, Bret has a tall/open stance, he loads his hands back well, and stands in with solid balance. He has a short swing, a direct barrel, and hits with some strength to the pull side. Hitting can get better with improved timing, letting the ball travel deeper, and with a more square stride.
