12/19/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Franklin (College Station), TX Bret is a strong 1B prospect who will graduate in 2022. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great raw power. Getting his hands activated in his load can help Bret produce more consistent contact. In the field, Bret shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays. He makes good throws on double play turns and displays good footwork around the bag. Bret can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. Overall, Bret is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
