12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Williams is an athletic 2016 grad that showed well at Pirate City. Defensively, Bret showed consistently clean fielding ability and a quick release at shortstop. Momentum carried Williams's to target keeping throws online and increased flexibility will allow hands to play further out in front. At the plate, Bret showed good pop with the hips and hands coordinating together properly leading to present bat speed. Williams is aggressive to attack the fastball and carries that aggressive mentality over to the base paths. Bret also worked on the mound at the tournament and showed signs of command with a sinking fastball and slider with 10-4 shape. The mechanics are sound for Williams as he gathers well at the balanced position allowing the separation to work on time as the directionality stays square with proper stride length. Bret is a versatile athlete who played many positions effectively during his time at Pirate City. He is a team player who does what it takes to provide the team success. With Williams's current ability and his hard-working mentality, he will be able to take his game to the next level.
