06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Brett is an athletic LHH 3B shows a bright future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. Offensively, he has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage - resulting in a barrel explosion (100 mph exit velocity) with the ball coming off well of his barrel from both sides of the plate. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with zip (93 mph velocity) across the diamond.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Brett was very impressive in all facets at the Baseball Factory UA Futures Texas event. The physical (6'3"/200-pound) 3B prospect had big measurables (92 mph exit velocity, 90 mph arm strength), an excellent workout and showed that he could translate all of it to game play. He went 2-3 with a hard hit 1B as well as a 2B to deep LCF. His approach at the plate is quiet and simple allowing him to be balanced and on-time consistently. He has a knack for finding the barrel while seeming to be most comfortable gap-to-gap, though he does flash some pull power. Brett also was dependable at 3B with sure hands and a good first step in either direction. He finished plays with plenty of arm across the diamond. Overall, this is a unique prospect who projects to stay at 3B as a run-producing LH bat.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
