09/18/2011 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Brett is a tall and solid athlete with a strong lower half. Brett has a short arm action that provides accurate throws with plenty of life, as he stays square through his target. Brett covers good ground in the outfield and has great hands with a quick exchange. To become a better defender in the outfield, Brett needs more reps during batting practice to work on his reads off the bat and improve his first step. Behind the plate, he make good throws to 2B thanks to his plus footwork and good hands. Brett could work on letting the ball come to him as he reaches for pitches when receiving. When blocking, Brett has a soft chest that allows him to keep the ball close and in front of him. Brett has a pretty good idea of what he is doing at the plate. His setup is square and athletic, which gives him good balance and a strong lower half. Brett hits to all fields well and has god bat speed and extends very well through the ball. In order to create more power to the opposite side of the field, Brett needs to stay a little taller and not guide the ball the other way to create equal power to both side of the field. With one high school season left Brett has a great opportunity to fine tune his skills and get ready to play at the next level.
