07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Brett continues to shine on the diamond and has the makings of a special type player as he continues to develop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he works through a strong balance point. He shows good mound composure and works to pitch ahead in counts. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a solid feel for pitch with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Hoover, AL Brett is a tall, lean, 2-way player with good skills. At 3B, Brett has quick/active feet, soft hands, and he fields the ball athletically. He moves with good agility to the ball, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. At 3B, Brett has a free/clean arm action, he works on a downhill plane, and finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Brett has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He swings aggressively, has fast bat speed, and a direct barrel to the ball. Brett can improve solid skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. Play more through
2. Stay low throughout
Pitching
1. Eyes on target
2. Direction
Offense
1. Barrel accuracy
2. Swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
