01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Brett had an extremely impressive outing at the Under Armour All-America Preseason Tournament. He faced 15 hitters and struck out 11 of them - including the last 10 in a row that he faced. He threw from a high 3/4 (nearly overhand) slot that generated excellent downhill plane to his fastball that touched 90 mph. That pitch normally had tail to it, though he kept it true when going inside to RH hitters. He showed lots of confidence in his curve that had good rotation and was landed consistently for strikes. Brett added in a change that had sink and some deception. Overall, this LHP has excellent feel to pitch, mixes his stuff well and throws a high volume of strikes - the recipe for a starting pitcher at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
