10/10/2018 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Brett continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond as he continues to improve his baseball tools. At the plate he has improved power potential, now showing well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct swing path as he stays inside the ball utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing, displaying gap to gap power. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. Range is a plus as he continues to improve his foot quickness (7.08 60 time) and reads balls well off the bat, covering a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be. He is a gamer on the diamond.

06/03/2018 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Brett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as he improved his 60 time, now a 7.12 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with zip and on line carry through his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Brett will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game and he is a sure player to follow.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Brett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

10/29/2017 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Brett is a lean OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the ball quicker and build more arm strength to improve arm grade. At the plate he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Brett has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
