12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Brett is a hardworking, very coachable player who makes adjustments to be the best player he can be. He is a gamer who strives off of pressure and came through at big moments during his time at Pirate City. At the plate is where he continues to show best through an athletic setup. He works on time and engages his lower half well through a short / direct swing path. Hands work inside the ball as he utilizes all fields through a line drive type swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel the with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At SS, he is aggressive and comes to get the GB. He is a smooth / fluid fielder working right to left as he plays through GB's. He makes the plays and works through the ball in-line toward his target at 1B. Later range will improve as he improves foot quickness. With 3 years to further develop, Brett has abilities with time and room to improve.

09/06/2015 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Brett is a lean 2B that will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.28 60 time. Defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He works around and plays through the ball well with his body while presenting glove well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, working to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach with power numbers increasing as he learns to use his lower half more. With 3 years to further develop, Brett has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
