02/17/2019 - College PREP - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Brewster is a talented 1B/OF prospect who has an athletic build. At 1B, Brewster plays with an aggressive approach and active footwork. He shows agile actions and range in each direction laterally. Brewster presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position. He has a quick exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Brewster plays with momentum through the baseball showing consistently strong throws. As a right-handed hitter, Brewster has an open setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Brewster shows explosive bat speed with a direct swing path and quick hands. He gets good extension producing consistently hard contact. Brewster engages his hips and drive the ball to each gap with power. In the outfield, Brewster plays with firm footwork and he makes the routine plays. He stays behind the baseball and shows good range. Brewster fields the ball in a square position and works through the baseball. Overall, Brewster is a versatile prospect who can impact the game on both sides of the ball.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Brewster continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. He displays a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball shows good cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He shows good composure and competes on the mound. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power improving as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. With 4 years to further develop, Brewster has potential with time and room to progress his game.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Brewster is a young two way player. As an outfielder, he gets to the ball well and uses good angles, while showing good body control. His feet are efficient and his arm works well as he throws from a good arm slot from the outfield. Developing softer hands and being quicker in his approach are areas to work on. He has shown improvement on his routes since we initially saw him. On the mound, Brewster shows good mechanics in his delivery. He gathers over the rubber and generates good momentum with his leg kick. He has strong direction and finishes his delivery squared to his target with a solid free arm action. He works around the zone and throws on a nice downhill plane for the most part (at times, he throws across his body). Working to control his tempo and not rush will help him to be more consistent. At the plate, Brewster has an athletic squared setup. He has a quality load which allows him to smoothly take his hands to the ball. A level swing path and a quick bat has Brewster flashing sneaky pop to all fields. He is a good hitter for his age. Brewster is a team first player and very coachable, and he will be a player to watch as he gets older.

12/07/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA Brewster is a skilled, 2-way player as an OF/RHP. In the OF, he shows a quick first step as he hustles into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball, gathers well, and works in-line toward hi target. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He swings against a firm front side and hits line-drives. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm whip is quick as his FB tops out at 63 mph while showing run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp/tight break. Changeup has slight run and will get in on the RHH's. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
