08/22/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Brian is a C prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame, with broad shoulders, athletic build with some strength present. Behind the dish, he has efficient feet, with quiet actions, and ability to stick balls. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and a soft chest. Works thumb under, with a clean exchange, into an over-the-top release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was up to 77mph and his best pop time was 2.32 seconds. At the plate, he hits from an upright and square stance. Good lower half rotation, with ability to deliver the barrel, and shows a fast bat through the hitting zone. Has a short/direct barrel path with natural lift in the swing. Hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph during BP. Brian should have opportunities to play at the next level with continued growth and development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
