Official Scouting Report

01/27/2019 - National Tryout Plus - San Jose, CA Brian is an athletic and lanky 2020 OF prospect that showed off his speed in the 60-yard dash. In the OF, Brian is on time with his prep step and anticipates the ball off the bat. He covers ground with his speed, works behind the ball, and has a loose arm action. At the plate, Brian starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits the ball to all fields and his lower half is in sync with his hands. Brian continues to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Brian is a young, strong prospect who has improve his skills at the plate with increased bat speed and barrel accuracy. He stays balanced throughout his swing and has a smooth swing with whip through the zone. He can deliver the barrel consistently and sprays hits to all fields. In the outfield, he gets good breaks on the ball and takes efficient routes to show good range. He fields athletically and works through the ball with momentum to his target. A long toss program will improve arm strength and make him a complete defender. Brian is an intriguing prospect with lots of upside.

12/02/2018 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Brian is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Brian shows efficient footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He gains momentum well on his throws and works to keep them accurate to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Brian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and hits from a strong front side. He works to barrel up the baseball and sprays to all fields. Brian can improve as a hitter by taking a level swing path to the ball. Overall, Brian is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
