12/11/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Delray Beach, FL Brian ran his best 60 to date at 7.37 seconds, and lowered pop times to 2.01 during his last workout with The Factory. Behind the plate, Brian has firm hands, he sits in squarely, and footwork is efficient. He holds a low target, blocks and receives well, and throws with a quick/accurate arm to 2nd base. Offensively, Brian has an athletic stance, good balance, and solid bat speed. He loads well, swings on plane, and taps into some lower body.

09/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Jupiter, FL Brian is a C/3B prospect who will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish, Brian shows proper footwork and covers up well when blocking. He receives with a firm glove and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to the 2B bag. Sitting in a more square stance can help Brian improve his overall catching ability. At 3B, Brian makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Brian can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball to his pull side. Maintaining center balance throughout his swing can help Brian create more consistent contact. Overall, Brian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Brian is an interesting 2023, C/3B prospect. At 3B, Brian presents a low/early target, has soft hands, and attacks the ball. Brian will increase his overall ability at 3B if his continues to work on his agility drills and taking reps at the position. As a C, Brian works behind the ball, has soft hands, and blocks the ball well. If he continues to work on getting into an athletic secondary position, exchanging the ball in front of his chest, and gaining ground on his throws, he will become a more accurate thrower behind the plate. Following the throwing / long toss program will increase his arm strength. On offense, Brian has a balanced stance, loads his hands back, and attacks the inside part of the ball. If he continues to keep his head down at contact, getting his knob into the drive position, and using his lower half, he will increase his consistency to make hard contact to all fields. Brian is a coachable player and will continue to improve with experience.

11/13/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Brian is a 3B/C who is young and has time to improve. At the hot corner, he gets into a ready position showing active footwork. He stays low as he field Gb's in an athletic position, bringing the ball to the center of his body. Behind the plate, Brian displays directional footwork. His hands/body are quiet as he gets into a good blocking position. With the bat, this RHH gets into a loading stance. He drives his lower 1/2 through the zone as he sprays the ball to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Soft hands
2. Arm strength
3. Smooth exchange
Catching
1. Stay low
2. Quicker footwork
3. Quick to block
Offense
1. Athletic setup
2. Develop rhythm
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
