06/07/2020 - All-In Membership - Bowie, MD Brian is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Brian works with a loose arm and leads well with his glove side. He drives his lower half well and keeps his pitches around the zone. Brian shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph. Breaking ball sits from 67-70mph. Changeup sits from 75-76mph. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Brian improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Brian can improve as a hitter by working on his contact points. Overall, Brian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
