04/23/2017 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Brian is an athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents out front. He moves well to his glove side with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he shows good barrel accuracy. Power will increase as he adds overall body strength. With 3 years to further develop, Brian has a ton of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
