03/01/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Brice is a young (2025 grad) 2-way player OF/SS who continues to work hard on his skills. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and works into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball, works through it and has a good, loose arm action to throw. Continuing to get more reps and increase his arm strength through a long toss program will aid in his development. At SS, he moves well into a square fielding position behind the GB. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, Perkins displays a square/athletic setup with centered balance. He maintains a quiet head and tracks pitches into the zone and off of his barrel. Working to get loaded sooner and create more extension through contact will both help to increase pop off of the barrel. Brice has tools with still a ton of time to develop.

07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Brice is a high energy SS/OF that worked hard in the Cape. In the OF, Brice shows active strength with a high energy motor. He fields the ball low making clean exchanges and makes accurate throws from the 3/4 arm slot. Using a long toss program can help Brice improve his arm strength from the OF. Hitting, Brice sets up tall with high hands. He is very aggressive in the zone and works hard to get on plane with the pitch. His approach is centered around being able to hit the ball to all fields. Working on becoming more athletic in the lower half will help Brice become more efficient in his movements. Brice is a hard worker and we look forward to seeing his progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
