06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West
Briggs is an athletic RHP with a projectable frame (6'2", 194lbs.) At the plate his swing extends through the hitting zone as shows good core rotation. He creates good power in his swing as displayed by an 89mph exit velo. On the mound he throws from over top with great arm action. His FB ranges from 79-81mph and his CB sat 62-66 with an 11-5 break. Overall, Briggs is a very solid player who flashes the potential to play at the next level.
07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West
Briggs strictly came out to hit at the Baseball Factory National West Showcase. Offensively, he displayed a strong lower half and flashed power. He was on-time to get ready to hit and had strong hands at contact. He worked with good bat speed to and through the zone, rotating his core to help accelerate the barrel, and got extended out in front. Overall - Briggs continues to show an ability to hit and has another two years to fine tune his game for the next level.
01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament
Briggs continues to shine on the diamond. This RHP has a solid frame in which he works to a tall balance point and works to stay on top. FB cracks the mitt mid to upper 80's while showing run. He keeps the ball down which will result in a lot of GB outs. He utilizes his lower 1/2 well to push off, driving toward the dish. He competes, attacks hitters and fills up the zone with strikes. In the OF, Neff is quick to it. He plays through the ball smoothly and has a clean exchange from glove to hand. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with patience. Swing path is level as he extends through, resulting in line-drives to all parts of the field. A versatile athlete - this 6'2'/210 2-way player has a very bright future ahead of him (only a 2017 grad).
12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic
Briggs showed improvements to all aspects of his game in just four months between outings with Baseball Factory. On the hill, he topped out at 87 MPH with his fastball, spun his 12/6 CB with good action from 65-71, and showed increase feel for his CH at 77-78. He showed an ability to locate his FB, CB, and is beginning to feel the CH more effectively. Defensively, he made plays by taking an aggressive first step and played through to throw with fluidity. He worked the ball to the left-center part of his body and changed slots effectively. Offensively, he had a strong swing with good hand/hip coordination. He worked to stay quiet with his actions, which in turn helped his barrel become more accurate for pop. In all - Briggs is a great prospect, a dominate pitcher with hard stuff, and he still has 2.5 years to improve further.
08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2
Briggs continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities, especially on the mound where he projects best. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball shows on a downhill plane as he hides the ball well. Breaking ball shows potential as being a quality pitch, displaying 11/5 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. In the OF, foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.40 runner. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and will be better quickly with more reps. At the plate, he tracks the ball well and has some strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner and square up stance. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. He has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Briggs is a tall, solid, and athletic RHP/OF that will graduate in 2017. Currently, he projects best on the mound but has potential in the OF. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 80-82 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Off speed stuff flashed potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. In the OF, defensive abilities in the OF are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. He utilizes his aggressive / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles to track balls down. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate, with life and on line carry through his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, displaying solid arm strength. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are loose, working through a level swing path He has strength in his swing and makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grade to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 3 years to further develop, Briggs has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
