Fastball shows tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Brighton worked out at 3B and on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. He raised arm velocity to 62 MPH and competed well. At 3B, Brighton has active feet, he moves well to the ball, and fields cleanly. He makes plays, funnels well, and has a consistent/accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Brighton has a clean arm circle and he separates his hands on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, lands with good direction, and competes in the zone. At the plate, Brighton has an open stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He swings aggressively, finds the barrel of the bat, and makes consistent contact. Continuing to work on the following can help skills improve.

03/02/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Hitting, Pitching & Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Brighton is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Brighton gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Brighton shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph. Cutter sits at 49mph with 10-4 break. Changeups sits from 52-54mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Brighton improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid gap to gap pop. Brighton can improve as a hitter by increasing his bat speed. With six more years to develop, Brighton has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Birghton is an athletic and talented 2025 prospect that was eager to learn and made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Training Weekend. At the plate, Brighton sees the ball well and keeps a quiet head. He loads his hands back into the drive position with an easy load, gets his front foot down on time, and hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and keep his head down at contact. Continuing to load knee to knee and have a strong foundation in his lower half will allow him to stay balanced through contact. Brighton will continue to improv with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Brighton is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Brighton has good pre-pitch actions, agile movements, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and a short/accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Brighton has a loose/clean arm circle, he separates on time, and repeats his delivery well. At the plate, Brighton has an athletic set-up, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He can spray to all fields and uses some lower body. Brighton can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
