09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Brock is a C prospect who showed well during the All-Region Tournament. Behind the plate, Brock shows efficient footwork and takes good angles when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He has a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through the 2B bag. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent contact and pull side pop. Overall, Brock is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/23/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Brock continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.25 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Brock is a hard working and talented catching prospect that is a team player. Behind the plate, Brock showed leadership skills and was a grinder. When receiving, Brock has an athletic stance, he presents a low target, and he works behind the ball. When blocking, he needs to lead with his glove and try to control the ball with his chest. When throwing, Brock has a clean exchange, he has proper footwork, and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to build arm strength and improve quickness. At the plate, Brock starts in a squared stance, he has an active load, and looks to make hard contact to all fields. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact. He rotates his backside and keeps the barrel on plane. Brock is highly motivated and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
