07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Brock continues to show improvements in his baseball tools and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Pop times showed in the 2.16 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills are solid as he shows off his athletic abilities. He communicates well behind the plate and shows good leadership traits. At the plate, he continues to shine as he now displays outstanding hitting / power potential. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (91 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with 3 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player. A talented prospect, he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

01/21/2018 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Brock is a strong and athletic 2020 C/3B prospect. Behind the dish, Brock has an athletic primary and secondary. He presents a big target and works behind the ball. When blocking he leads with his glove and controls the ball with his chest. Continuing to exchange the ball in in front of his chest and keeping his feet in line with his target will allow him to be more accurate. At 3B, Brock is aggressive to the ball and throws from multiple arm slots. He presents a low/early glove and has an active prep step. Working from the ground up will allow him to makes the routine play more consistently. At the plate, Brock makes hard contact and keeps the barrel on plane with the ball. Continuing to load the hands into the drive position and use the lower half will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Brock will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
