03/21/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Dayton, OH Brock continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach, utilizing the middle of the field well. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball showed range of 72-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is tremendous as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/26/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Dayton, OH Brock is an athletic 2B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 2B, Brock shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Brock gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target and works inline towards the plate. Brock shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 63-65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Brock is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

01/27/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Dayton, OH Brock looked good at both positions and at the plate during his last workout in Dayton. At 2nd base, Brock has active feet, he gets in a good ready position and he plays with good energy. He fields aggressively, out in front, and throws with momentum from a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Brock has good balance, a quick arm action, and he gets good extension. He topped out at 71 MPH and he competes in the zone with hit pitches. Offensively, Brock improved both hitting and power grades to 42 and 38 respectively. At the plate, Brock has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He tracks well, swings aggressively, and makes hard/level contact.

10/14/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Lexington, KY Brock continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate he has improved his hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are loose and aggressive as he attacks balls in the zone. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and he presents well out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-68 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength.

07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Brock is a strong, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Brock has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
