09/09/2018 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Brock is a strong, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Brock has a free arm circle, he works well to his balance point, and he has good direction toward home plate. His CB shows nice 12/6 shape, he competes in the zone, and throws a heavy FB clocked at 83 MPH. If Brock can smooth out mechanics, his balance point, and finish more, mound effectiveness will get better. At 1B, Bock has solid actions, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and he has good footwork around the bag. He has a quick/clean exchange and throws with accuracy and carry to his target. Defense will get better if Brock can field further out in front of his body and play more through the ball. Offensively, Brock has an open stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, a short/direct barrel, and he can work the ball gap to gap. More finish and keeping a still head will help solid hitting get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
