Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

06/23/2019 - College PREP - Hagerstown, MD Brock is an athletic, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Brock has active feet, he reads the ball well off the bat, and tracks it well. He has a presentable glove, a clean exchange, and a loose/accurate arm to his target. If Brock can loosen overall body actions, and use 2 hands when catching, abilities in the OF will improve. On the mound, Brock has good balance and a quick/clean arm action. He works well to his balance point, gets good extension on his pitches, and finishes in a complete position. Mound effectiveness can get better by staying tall, more extension, and sharper off-speed. At the plate, Brock has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he works the ball gap to gap. He keeps a still head, swings level, and makes consistent/solid contact. Added bat speed and timing will help hitting numbers spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
