05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Clinton, IA Brock is a 2025 1B/OF prospect from West Burlington, IA. At first, he shows off a good rhythm and feel for the position. He does well to present his hands out in front and makes all the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly. He makes consistent throws to his targets and his footwork on double play feeds is impressive. In the OF, he does a great job pre-pitch of getting in a ready position. He takes good angles to the baseball and centers up the ball when fielding. He really stays aggressive through ground balls in the OF. At the plate, he starts in a squared, crouched stance and has a short stride. He has a quiet head and tracks the ball well. He likes to attack the middle of the field with his approach and works hard to make consistent contact with the barrel. We are excited to see more of Brock over the next 2+ years of high school baseball and development!

07/21/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - Session 2 (HS) Brock is a 1B/OF prospect out of West Burlington, IA who showcased his skills during the IMG National World Series. In the field, Brock gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He displays the ability to throw from multiple angles and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Taking a quicker first step can help Brock make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and produces solid line drives. Brock can barrel up more baseballs by getting more extension through his swing. Overall, Brock is a developing prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/22/2022 - All-In Membership - Clinton, IA Brock is a young 1st baseman who will graduate in 2025. Defensively, Brock has fluid/active feet, a presentable glove, and he centers well on his chest. He has a good approach, makes plays on balls hit his way, and throws accurately with momentum to his target. Solid defense can get even better if Brock can quicken his exchange and add arm strength. Offensively, Brock has a square/athletic stance, a still head, and a middle of the field approach. He makes consistent contact but can improve with a looser grip, added bat speed, and a more direct swing path.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
