12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brock is a talented 1B/RHP in the 2024 class. Defensively, he begins in an athletic fielding position and uses his feet well to gain ground to the ball. He has solid footwork around the bag and has reliable hands. Lowering his hips will allow him to stay under the ball effectively while fielding. On the mound he operates with a two pitch mix. His FB touched 80 with movement. His breaking pitch had 11/5 shape with sharp break and tight spin. His mechanics are polished and shows great comfort on the mound. He located in the zone well and will attack hitters early in the count. At the plate, he has quick hands (81 exit velo) and power to the pull side. His quiet head allows him to track pitches well and gets extension through the ball. This coachable young man has a bright future in the game.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Brock is a 2024 3B/RHP. Tall frame, and athletic build with square shoulders and projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Primary 3B, fields the ball out front in the infield. Has ability to make the routine plays. Shows some carry across the diamond from a high 3/4 slot, hit 81mph on throws. Secondary righthanded pitcher, clean mechanics with low effort release. Full and loose arm action working to a high 3/4 release point, at times over the top. Fastball has some life to it through the zone when extended out front. Does a good job of keeping hitters off balance. Flashed a curveball with 11/5 shape and a changeup with good sink. In 3 innings of work had 4 K’s. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even/upright stance. Glides into contact, stays short to the ball and repeats well, can continue to refine mechanics moving forward. Keeps hands inside, line drive bat path that projects with additional extension out front. As he continues to mature and develop, we see him having a promising career at the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Brock is a 3B/RHP that showed plus potential on the mound and out in the field. On the mound, Brock works with a 3-pitch mix of a FB/CB/CH combo. His FB is 71-73 with true 4-seam action, the CB is 11-5 with medium to hard break and is a potential out pitch as he grows, and the CH is 62-65 with FB arm speed deception. His mechanics are clean as he gathers over the rubber well showing a clean arm action. He lands with a proper stride for his body and finishes in line with a repeatable delivery. His frame has a lot to grow into with great pitchability. At 3B, Brock shows active and effective footwork with agile range in both directions. He fields the ball low with a confident glove. His funnel to exchange is clean as he gets rid of the ball with a loose arm action delivering an accurate ball from multiple angles. Hitting, Brock sets up with a tall stance getting his foot down on time as he launches his swing. He shows a fluid swing with a direct path finishing with good extension. He works line drives to all parts of the park. Brock is a young and athletic athlete that we are excited to see grow.

11/01/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Louisville, KY Brock continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball shows good cutting action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Brock is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, he takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in a smooth load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Overall, Brock is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he progresses.

12/07/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Brock is a 3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a short swing with good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Brock is a talented prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/01/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Evansville, IN Brock raised velocity to 74 MPH, exit velocity to 73 MPH, and showed very well all over the field during his last workout in Evansville. On the hill, Brock has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target, gets good extension toward home plate, and he competes in the zone. At 3rd, Brock gets into a good ready position, he takes good angles to the ball, and he fields cleanly. He fields out in front of his body, gains momentum toward his target, and throws with carry. At the plate, Brock has a tall/open stance, good balance, and he stays inside the baseball. He has a level/direct barrel through and shows good strength in his swing.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Brock continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball shows a range of 69-73 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with loose spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

04/14/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Brock is a tall, lean, 2-way player with good skills. At SS, Brock has active feet, clean hands, and he fields the ball squarely. He has a good backhand, works the double play well, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Brock has a quick/clean arm circle, good balance, and he separates on time. He works well to his balance point, has a controlled landing toward home, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Brock has an open stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has an aggressive approach, fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact; using his lower body. Solid overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
