05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Newnan, GA Broderick continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying solid power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is firm and presents out front. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Broderick is a class of 2027 1B/OF prospect. At the plate, he starts in a square stance and does a good job keeping his hands loose throughout the swing. Does a good job getting his hands back and loaded while he also shows a short stride. Hands do a good job getting in the zone. Works the ball to all parts of the field. In the field, he shows very good mechanics when fielding. Does a good job of playing beneath the baseball. Shows lots of feel for the game and a high baseball IQ. Broderick is a bright young prospect that we expect to see more good things from in the future.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Broderick is a 2027 1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series. At 1B, he has good body language and gets good reads off bat. He fields the ball out front from a square fielding position with a sure glove. He creates momentum to his target and has an arm velocity up to 55mph. At the plate, this right handed hitter sets up in a tall and open stance with low hands. Has a simple load as he made consistent contact. Hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph. During the games, he reached base 3 times with 2 singles and a walk. Overall, Broderick is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/04/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City Broderick is a coachable 1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at Pirate City. In the field, Broderick gets into position on time and fields with sure hands. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Taking a quicker first step can help Broderick make more plays. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a soft stride. He gets into a small load and works through a level swing, producing solid line drives. Broderick can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. With six more years to develop, Broderick has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/01/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Newnan, GA Broderick continues to shine on the diamond. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

03/14/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Montgomery, AL Broderick showed well at the event in Montgomery, Alabama. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive but needs to attack balls and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present out front. He shows good bag awareness and is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

10/18/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Birmingham, AL Broderick continues to shine on the diamond. At 1B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 47-48 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/23/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Broderick is a young, athletic IF who will graduate in 2026. In the IF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 6 years to further develop, Broderick has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
