04/15/2018 - College PREP - Fayetteville, AR Brodie is a solid, athletic OF/LHP who has a bright future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth/clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 73-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off the pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Brodie has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
