08/10/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Brodie continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond.. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. co. On the mound, he shows a sound, repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late, sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength on the mound. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding through an athletic setup. He displaying excellent foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / clean and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. At the plate, hitting and power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are aggressive and work through a level swing path. He has pop in his swing with gap-to-gap pop.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Brodie continues to show a promising future on the mound. Delivery is sound / repeatable with good tempo, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. He works downhill and utilizes his lower half well. Fastball showed a range of 69-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with downward break as it changes planes well. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the field, Brodie shows fluid footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains good momentum well on his throws which allows them to carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load well and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to square contact and gap to gap pop. Brodie can improve as a hitter by gaining more extension through the ball. With five more years to develop, Brodie has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Brodie is a talented, 2-way player as a 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he takes quick routes/angles and works into an athletic fielding position on GB's. He funnels the ball with soft hands and gets rid of the ball with a quick transfer. On the hill, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers a (FB, SL, CB) with loose/quick arm action and finishes in line towards home plate. As a hitter, Brodie stays loose with a quiet setup. He rips his lower 1/2, swings fast through the zone and drives pitches on a line with hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
